[Reform] A Trio of Brilliance Played by Square Diamonds

440showroom-ジュエリーリフォーム-ダイヤモンド-3連リング-一文字-プリンセスカット-K18PG

Hello,
This is Omori, the designer.

Following my post two entries ago (ring) and my previous post (necklace and earrings), I will now share the reform story of the "ring" that was entrusted to me this time. This is the last reform request from the same client.

This time, the consultation was about reforming a total of three rings: the original setting of a ring used in a previous reform, and two new rings entrusted to me. All the rings were set with square diamonds (princess and square cuts), each differing in cut and size.

Rings before reform

The client is a very stylish person who loves to layer many pieces of jewelry. Therefore, for the rings to be reformed this time, we aimed for a design that allows for stacking, and decided to create three simple eternity rings. The goal was also to create a design that would naturally blend with the reformed jewelry from the previous and two previous occasions. The client gladly agreed to this proposal, and we immediately proceeded with the design.

The theme this time is "rings that are easy to wear daily and can be enjoyed casually."
While the colorful and glamorous ring from the post two entries ago was suitable for outings, this time I designed an item that blends into everyday life.

The ring placed in the center

  • The main ring features six larger princess-cut diamonds.
  • They were securely set with a channel setting to make them easy for daily wear.
  • To avoid a too-simple impression with just diamonds, one round-cut diamond from the original setting was added to each side to balance the design.

Two rings flanking both sides

  • Smaller square-cut diamonds were used.
  • The width was slightly reduced to create a modest design that enhances the central ring.

Overall finish

  • Pink gold, which blends well with the skin, was used for the material.
  • While beautiful enough on its own, stacking all three rings adds glamor and fun, making them even more appealing.

Diamond rings after reform

With the completion of these three rings, this reform project successfully concluded. I was most delighted to have been able to spend a long time discussing the design and finish with the client.

This reform story began with sorting the entrusted jewelry into "items that can still be worn" and "items that will absolutely not be used."
By taking this important step to find choices that would make both the client and the jewelry happy,
we were able to breathe new life into the jewelry deemed "will absolutely not be used", and help the client and their jewelry become even happier with increased attachment.

Because jewelry is precious, prioritizing the client's wishes and creating designs they will love to wear. This process was a great inspiration for me and gave me new energy for creative work.

Thank you very much for entrusting me with the reform of so many pieces of jewelry. Imagining that each piece will blend into the client's daily life and be cherished brings me immense joy.

Until next time, I look forward to sharing more wonderful jewelry reform stories.
