Hello, I'm Kanae Omori, a designer.
One day, a customer approached me with a question:
"Kanae, do you have any orange gemstone earrings?"
...Orange earrings?
As I mentally rummaged through the jewelry and loose stone shelves, what came to mind was the sugarloaf cut carnelian, with its rich luster and vibrant, fresh color.
At that very moment, the customer saw the carnelian ring displayed in the showcase and, with a smile, said, "I really love this look." I remember how happy I was when my vision perfectly aligned with hers.
However...
The sugarloaf cut carnelian we had in stock was just sold out.
Reuniting with a gemstone is a matter of "fate" and "timing"
"If you can give me some time, I'll try to find it," I said.
Since then, my mind has been filled with carnelian.
Actually, when I first purchased this carnelian several years ago, I thought, "This cut is rare," and welcomed it as a loose stone.
The world of gemstones is truly about fate and timing. Sometimes they're available, but it's interesting how difficult it can be to find what you want exactly when you want it.
Color, size, shape, luster.
I kept searching without compromising on any of these, and finally, I found two loose stones that made me think, "This is it!"

The theme was already decided
Actually, at this point, the customer already had a complete image in mind.
It was the same style as the earrings she had ordered before.
The large claws that gently embrace the gemstone are characterized by their powerfulness, much like an animal's claws.
Simple yet with a distinct "personality."
I aimed to create jewelry that would excite her every time she held it, making her think, "I'm glad I ordered this."

"These earrings are also going to be a precious one for me."
At the time of delivery, she also told me how she still loves and uses the earrings I made for her previously, and I was so deeply moved.
"I'll enjoy these carnelian earrings too, matching them with the seasons and my clothes."
Receiving such kind words is the greatest reward for me as a designer.
The customer loves orange and brown colors.
I hope this jewelry can gently complement her warm personality and lifestyle.
Thank you very much for giving me so much time since our initial discussion.
I am truly grateful that we were able to create another precious memory of a gemstone together with a customer.
Please look forward to the next blog post.
