There are pieces of jewelry that have been dormant in the back of a drawer for a long time.

Because they were precious, I couldn't easily bring myself to take them anywhere. I'd been searching for a trustworthy place for 15 years, it seems.

During that time, a customer found 440showroom and visited us. She consulted us about wanting to transform jewelry inherited from her mother-in-law for herself and her two daughters.

 

She brought in a surprising 21 pieces of jewelry.

We started by laying them out on a table and checking each piece together. Is it genuine? Is it in a condition suitable for remodeling? How damaged are the stones?

By confronting each stone directly, I could feel the passage of time that the jewelry had experienced. "This one looks like it can be utilized," "Let's keep this one without forcing it."

We proceeded with sorting the stones while having conversations.

 

Out of the 21 pieces, 17 will be remodeled this time.

From there, we determined the direction of the remodel by carefully listening to "what kind of jewelry you want."

"I want to create them for myself and my two daughters."

When I heard those words, it re-emphasized how important this remodel was. Memories of her mother-in-law, passed on to her and her precious daughters. The sentiments embedded in the jewelry would connect across generations.

We temporarily held onto the jewelry, created designs, and then the customer visited us another day to choose from several patterns. That's how 10 pieces of jewelry were born.
