【Reform】Reborn Gemstones: The Creation of a One-of-a-Kind Ring

440showroom-ジュエリーリフォーム-ルビー-エメラルド-ペリドット-マルチカラーリング-K18PG

Hello,
I'm Omori, the designer.

Do you ever feel that cherished jewelry you've inherited, even though you know it's good quality, just doesn't quite "feel right"?

Many customers, it seems, end up putting these pieces away for various reasons, such as the design not matching their taste, or it being difficult to wear due to not fitting the times or their environment.

Today, I'd like to share a jewelry remodeling story with a customer who had such concerns.

The customer who consulted us this time had over 30 pieces of inherited jewelry.

Their request was, "I want you to help me think about how these pieces of jewelry can feel right for me now and become something I can wear with excitement."

Since they didn't have a clear design image yet, we decided to think together while interviewing them about their lifestyle, fashion, and what kind of item they wanted.

First, we asked them to sort the jewelry they brought into "pieces that can still be worn" and "pieces that will definitely not be used."

Pieces that could be used were cleaned and repaired so they could be enjoyed as they were.

We prioritized the best choice for the customer, without pushing for remodeling unnecessarily.

We began to consider designs for remodeling based on the jewelry that was deemed unusable.

The customer was very stylish and enjoyed combining many pieces of jewelry.

Therefore, we set "rings" as the main item this time, and also considered necklaces, earrings, and stackable rings.

Especially for rings, based on the comment that they "didn't have many colored stones," we proposed a gorgeous design combining vibrant colored stones such as ruby, emerald, and peridot.

We temporarily held all the jewelry and created design proposals tailored to the customer's lifestyle and fashion.

When the customer saw the design proposals later, they were very pleased and officially entrusted us with the creation.

First, we started remaking four rings into one ring.

Four rings before remodeling

The first piece we created was a colored stone ring combining ruby, emerald, and peridot.

The red, green, and gold color scheme is one of my personal favorites, as I've mentioned many times in my blog.

The customer had requested "fun color combinations and bold volume."

So, we arranged the gemstones randomly and boldly, creating a dynamic design that made it seem as if the gemstones were dancing.

Furthermore, we incorporated an openwork setting that allowed the finger to show through, adding lightness.

Considering daily wear, we aimed to ensure that it wouldn't be too much when combined with other jewelry.

The diamonds were set in a circular pattern and scattered throughout to create sparkle, balancing the overall design.

They also play a role in harmonizing the colors of the colored stones.

The ring after remodeling

Upon seeing the completed ring, the customer exclaimed, "I can't believe those inherited rings could be reborn into something so gorgeous and wonderful! It's beyond my expectations!"

Pleased with the finished ring, the customer also requested the creation of the necklaces, earrings, and stackable rings that had been put on hold.

I'll introduce those remodeling projects in the next blog post.

Stay tuned.
