Hello.
This is Omori, the designer.
A Special Brooch to Match Beloved Ring and Earrings
"I've been collecting amethysts little by little over the years. With those, and an amethyst removed from an old piece of jewelry, could I create a special brooch that's uniquely mine?"
That's the wonderful request I received.
And there was another request: "I'd love for it to be a gorgeous brooch that perfectly matches the amethyst ring and earrings I already own."
The ring and earrings were precious items inherited from her mother.
I could feel her strong desire to complete a set that matched them.
This client, in fact, frequently attends glamorous parties and social events, both domestically and internationally. She is a client who insists on "a sense of uniqueness," with almost all of her dresses and jewelry being custom-made.
"I absolutely won't wear anything that everyone else has!"
This request was imbued with such a strong sentiment.
I was thrilled to design it.

The Hexagonal Amethyst Takes Center Stage: A Design Connected to the Ring and Earrings
What first caught my eye was the vertically elongated hexagonal amethyst.
The cut is unusual, and for the ring and earrings, a special setting is used where the pavilion (the pointed side) is intentionally displayed facing up, rather than being on the underside as is typical.
I love this playful touch.
For the brooch as well, I decided to incorporate this pavilion-up display to create a sense of unity.
Furthermore, the amethysts she owned came in various shapes and cuts, including oval, emerald, square, and baguette.
Each one possessed a unique character, radiating a presence worthy of a centerpiece.
Amethysts of different cuts and sizes, enhancing each other's individuality while harmonizing as a single brooch.
I designed it with a feeling akin to assembling a puzzle.
Emphasis on Space and Elevation to Create Movement and Three-Dimensionality
The key to this brooch is to deliberately leave ample space between the gemstones.
Instead of crowding them together, the design utilizes negative space to create a sense of glamour and volume.
However, simply spreading them out would make the piece seem drawn out.
Therefore, I placed importance on the "movement" created by varying heights and angles.
I calculated the design so that the gemstones would radiate light in different directions while maintaining varying heights.
The metal setting uses yellow and white gold with hand-carved jagged patterns.
This also adds a classical touch.
Diamonds Added for a More Contrasting Sparkle
While finalizing the design, I thought, "I definitely want to incorporate the baguette-cut diamonds used in the ring and earrings into the brooch."
When I proposed it to the client, she happily replied, "I happen to have the same diamonds."
Additionally, I received three more round-cut diamonds.
Adding the colorless and transparent, delicate sparkle of diamonds to the deep purple of the amethysts dramatically tightened the overall impression.
The gemstones the client possessed were brilliantly given new life.
The Result: A 2-Way Brooch & Pendant Jewelry Piece
The finished product was a brooch with a beautiful vertical line, where amethysts and diamonds flow gracefully.
Furthermore, a foldable bale was installed so that it could be worn with thicker chains the client owned, making it usable as a pendant top.
This allows for switching between wearing it as a brooch or a pendant depending on the outfit.
A special 2-way jewelry piece was born, changing its expression to suit the occasion.

The Long-Awaited 'Amethyst Demi-Parure' is Finally Complete
On the day of delivery, the customer gently smiled as she held the brooch to her chest and looked in the mirror.
"Finally, I have the amethyst set I've always wanted."
Her words deeply moved me.
It was the moment when her favorite three-piece set of ring, earrings, and brooch, or 'demi-parure,' was completed.
I am truly delighted to have helped add another one-of-a-kind special piece of jewelry to her jewelry box.
