At the new product launch event we held previously, that customer stopped.
She gazed intently at the new necklace on display and said to her daughter, who was with her:
"It's similar in shape and size to the diamond I have."
After a slight pause,
"I wonder if it could become a necklace like this."
I can't forget the atmosphere around the two of them.
A few days later, they visited our store and brought in a ring.
It was a gold ring adorned with a 0.74ct pear-shaped diamond, with a vivid red ruby set within it.
Apparently, it had been sleeping in a drawer for some time.
What captivated the customer at the new product launch was a diamond charm from the Act Collection.
It's a simple, bold top where ample gold embraces the diamond. Because it's unadorned, the brilliance of the diamond and the texture of the metal are fully showcased. Act charms usually have an opening/closing mechanism, but this time, to match the O3 necklace, it was made with a standard bail.
The chain is an O3 necklace, one of 440's popular items, featuring robustly linked square segments. The length is 54cm, and the clasp is a large, easy-to-grasp spring ring, as per the customer's request. To support such a prominent top, the chain also needed considerable strength. It can elegantly peek out even over patterned or voluminous clothing.
And then, where to use the ruby?
I felt there was no need to place it at the front. The star of this necklace is the diamond. But I didn't want to leave the precious ruby unused.
The answer was the end piece.
The small ruby, set at the end of the chain, isn't visible from the front. A flash of red, subtly gleaming from the back. That's all it needs. In fact, that's what makes it perfect.
Only the wearer knows about the hidden red. Such jewelry is sure to be cherished for a long time, like a personal charm.
When they came to pick it up, they were absolutely delighted.
Soon after, we received a message from their daughter:
"My mother picked it up today and was overjoyed. I haven't actually seen it yet, but hearing her excited description, I'm filled with gratitude for the wonderful necklace you designed and created!"
Joy compounding, and then arriving again. Moments like these fill my heart.
To think that the fleeting moment they stopped at the exhibition led to this, it’s truly wonderful.
