Over time, hobbies and preferences change. A customer brought in two pearl earrings that they once loved but now just sit in their drawer, and asked us about remodeling them.

These simple earrings featured lustrous Akoya pearls and black pearls. Both were of very high quality, and the customer requested a simple yet modern design that would highlight the quality of the pearls. While simple, there are countless design options. We considered various arrangements for the Akoya and black pearls, such as reversing their top and bottom positions, and what kind of components to place between them.
Ultimately, we decided to place the Akoya pearl on top and the slightly larger black pearl on the bottom, utilizing the difference in their sizes.

We incorporated white gold cylinders between the pearls, creating earrings that accentuate a modern feel. This was achieved through the contrast between the pearls' mysterious luster and the cool sheen of the metal, as well as the vivid color contrast of black and white. The earring findings used for the original Akoya pearls were repurposed for this new design.

Even if hobbies and preferences change, the allure of jewelry is eternal. With the right design, remodeling can rekindle past excitement. I was truly happy to see the customer's joyful expression after this remodel. We sincerely appreciate you entrusting us with the creation of this piece.
