Today, I'd like to share the reform story of a pearl fashion ring.
The customer brought in a large 12mm pearl ring with diamonds set in a "prong setting" style, which was popular in the past.
Despite being a magnificent pearl, it was rarely worn and had been "put away."
"Can anything be done with this pearl?"—That's how the consultation began.
Do you own a pearl ring for formal occasions?
When I receive inquiries about pearls, there's always something I ask first:
"Do you own a simple pearl ring for formal occasions?"
I believe it's an essential item to have for peace of mind "just in case."
This time, the answer was, "Yes, I do."
In that case, we decided to boldly steer this reform in a "fashion" direction.
The item would be a ring, and we decided to propose a design that could be enjoyed daily.
Adding a dignified "line" to the "round" (pearl)
A pearl is a perfectly formed "beautiful circle" in itself. That's why, instead of overdoing the adornments, we aimed for a touch of individuality within simplicity.
Our theme this time was to enhance the "round" with a "line". We added a dignified line (platinum and diamonds) to the graceful curve (pearl) to create a striking contrast.
Tailoring Points
- Base: Based on the silhouette of the 440 pearl rings the customer saw, adjusted to a height and balance suitable for everyday wear.
- Vertical Diamond Line: In response to the customer's preference for "a little bit of diamond," diamonds were pavé-set in a "vertical line" on the upper side of the pearl. This subtle detail creates an accent where light gently streaks.
- Material and Expression: The sharp straight lines of platinum, in contrast with the large "round" pearl, further enhance the pearl's luster and volume.

Practicality: Solves the problem of snagging with prong settings. The smooth feel against the finger allows for carefree use, even during sweater season.
A modern pearl ring with "a touch of individuality" is complete
Every time she moved her hand in front of the mirror, light passed through the vertical diamond line, and the roundness of the pearl glowed softly.
When we presented it, she gave us warm words and a smile, saying, "Thanks to this ring, I'm looking forward to dressing up."
In addition to the formal pearl ring she already owned, this "another pearl ring" for everyday enjoyment has successfully returned from the closet to the forefront.
To witness a dormant pearl breathe new life and shine again as an everyday companion, bringing color to daily life—I am truly grateful for that moment.
