The moment I picked it up, I thought, "This is a ring." The blue was that beautiful.
We were entrusted with a sapphire necklace, its deep royal blue breathtakingly beautiful. An oval stone carefully set in an antique-style platinum frame. You could tell it had been cherished for a long time.

"I don't really wear necklaces much" — that consultation was the start of the remodeling process.
As they looked at the jewelry in the store, based on their words, "I want something modern that I can wear every day," we arrived at a design where the sapphire lies horizontally between two diamond eternity rings. The stone rests gently, as if breathing, within ample space.

We deliberately deviated from the theory that blue gemstones should be set in platinum or white gold, choosing pink gold instead. The contrast between the mystical deep blue and the soft pink gold was unexpectedly beautiful—the moment it was finished, I couldn't help but be captivated.
The moment a dormant stone begins to shine again. I believe that is the greatest joy of remodeling.
In fact, on this day, the same client's ruby necklace was also reborn into a ring with a design from 440's "Art Déco Modernism" collection. That story will be in the next blog post.
