Today, I'd like to share a custom order story about recreating a treasured ring using K18 gold and natural stones.
A Glimpse of a Treasured Ring Found Overseas
The client brought in a ring with a reddish-purple stone, which they had found while living abroad.
They had loved and worn it for many years, but the material was unknown.
They consulted us because they wanted a similar design made from proper materials.
As we discussed, the first thing I suggested was a rhodolite garnet.
Its subtly clear "reddish-purple" nuance—neither purely red nor purple—and its teardrop shape (pear cut) resonated with the impression of their original ring.
It was very memorable when they exclaimed, "This is the color!" the moment they saw it.
A Warm Finish Featuring a Hammered Texture
The ring's body was given a hammered (tsuchime) texture, retaining the warmth unique to handcrafted work.
This slightly uneven texture softly catches the light, adding individuality to a simple design.
The rhodolite garnet is gently embraced by a bezel setting, creating a comfortable volume for everyday wear.
The subdued gold and deep reddish-purple stone blend seamlessly with the skin, yet stand out as a unique piece.

The Joy of Bringing "What You Truly Want" to Life
Having worn it for a long time, the client understood the comfortable fit and balanced design.
I believe that clients already have a clear standard of "comfort" for themselves.
That's why their straightforward request, "The same shape, but in gold material," came about.
When they saw the completed ring,
they gave us the wonderful feedback, "I'm surprised how much it looks like the original. I'm very satisfied."
Just like that treasured ring,
I hope this new ring will gradually accumulate memories in the days to come,
and weave another new story.
