[Order] Grayish Tourmaline x Art Déco Modernism Ring

オーダー後のトルマリンリング

Hello.
I'm Omori, the designer.

Today, I'd like to share the story of a custom-made jewelry piece crafted from a loose tourmaline stone brought in by a customer, set in a design from our 'Art Déco Modernism' collection.

A Sense of Harmony Born from Layers of Preference

"I bought it because I loved it so much," the customer said, as they carefully took out the tourmaline with a grayish nuanced color from its case. The moment the case opened, I nodded internally, thinking, "Indeed. This color is perfectly suited to this customer."

The customer who consulted us this time had previously commissioned custom orders and reforms. Through our sessions, their style, atmosphere, and preferred tendencies had naturally accumulated in my mind, so when I saw this tourmaline, I felt a sense of "I knew it."

Choosing a Design that Embodies "My Style"

As we worked together to create the design, the customer was particularly drawn to a ring from the 'Art Déco Modernism' collection.
This is one of 440's popular collections, characterized by "beautiful line expression" and "bold use of space." We decided to combine it with the customer's favorite tourmaline.

This particular tourmaline is a loose stone characterized by its exquisite grayish color and soft cushion cut. While it is a stone with a unique personality, its tone is rather subdued. Therefore, we believed that adding delicate yet brilliant diamonds would enhance its beauty even further.

We received diamonds that the customer already owned and decided to set them in this ring.

A Unique Presence that Utilizes Nuance

The completed ring is a one-of-a-kind piece for the left index finger.
The main tourmaline is deliberately set at an angle, giving it movement and presence even within its quiet color palette.

Alongside it are seven diamonds arranged in a vertical line.
The contrast with the tourmaline's rounded form creates a sense of sharpness, giving the overall piece a sophisticated impression.

And another star of this ring is the color of the metal.

We chose K18 champagne gold.
The moment we picked up the tourmaline, the customer and I excitedly agreed, "This color is simply wonderful!" and quickly decided on this gold.

Not as cool as white gold, nor as warm as yellow gold, the champagne gold, with its subtly cool nuance, exquisitely complements the grayish tourmaline, elevating it to a piece of jewelry with adult elegance.

Spotlight on Gems

The finished ring has become a one-of-a-kind presence, nestled on the customer's index finger.
I am truly delighted that a cherished gemstone has been reborn in a new form that naturally blends into life and fashion, and that I was able to assist in this process.

Thank you again for sharing this "exciting time" with me and the customer.

If you have dormant gemstones, or gemstones you love but "don't know what to do with," or if you're thinking, "I want to create jewelry that's uniquely me," please feel free to consult us.
We will carefully design it so that the gemstone becomes a special presence that reflects your life.

Please look forward to the next blog post.
