Jewelry that makes a statement can sometimes end up collecting dust in the back of your closet because you think, "It's beautiful, but hard to wear."
This is a reform story born from such a dilemma.
A large mabe pearl necklace inherited from a mother-in-law. Combined with jade and ruby rings, it was remade into a brooch.

The customer said, "It's too big and hard to wear." However, the gold embellishments surrounding the mabe pearl were also truly beautiful, and I wanted to make the most of them.
And what we combined this time was a jade and ruby ring. Actually, this jade ring was an engagement ring given by her father-in-law to her mother-in-law. When I heard that such a precious stone was shining together with the mabe pearl in a brooch, my heart was filled with emotion.
How can we make a large, round mabe pearl look sleek?
My idea was to emphasize the vertical line. I extended a vertical line of rubies, one by one, and adorned it with jade at the end. The round mabe pearl and the sharp vertical line. This contrast tightens the overall impression, giving it a modern feel.
Even though the size remains the same, it magically looks sleeker by appearing vertically elongated. Seeing the finished product, I once again felt the power of design.
Rather than erasing the presence of the mabe pearl, adding a vertical line transformed it into a piece that can be worn in a way that feels true to oneself now.
I am always delighted, no matter how many times I experience it, when dormant jewelry is brought back to life in this way.
