[Jewelry Remake] Family Bonds Revived from a Jewelry Box

リフォーム後のパールネックレス

Hello everyone,
I'm Omori, a designer.

I'm writing to you from Hanzomon, where the rain is falling softly.

Despite the bad weather, we had a customer who made an appointment and came to consult about a custom-made ring. They had been thinking about having a ring made for over a decade, but couldn't quite make up their mind.

However, this time they felt a connection with 440 and decided to visit us. We are truly honored that they chose us for this special occasion.

I'm really looking forward to the process of working together and creating a wonderful ring.

Now, the reform case I'd like to introduce today is like bringing a hidden treasure back to life from a jewelry box.

The customer brought in pearl jewelry that had been stored away for many years without being used, as well as a pair of cufflinks and a loose stone with a beautiful star effect, both blue, which they had inherited from their father.

The pearl necklaces were items that had been received as gifts or purchased by herself, but she realized she no longer wore them. In addition, we also received a large pearl brooch.

The customer's request, wondering how to make use of these items, was: "I want to use all the pearls and combine the blue stone cufflinks and loose stone to create a long necklace."

While valuing the customer's memories, we kept the front design of her father's cufflinks as is, to maximize their original design. For the loose stone, we devised a way to make it look like a single pearl bead, harmonizing it with the pearls. The blue stone, with its cabochon cut, was given a three-dimensional platinum finish on the back, so that it retains its beauty no matter which way it turns, as if it had been a perfectly round bead from the start.

The pearls were carefully removed from their original settings, and through-holes were drilled in those that only had half-holes. They were then reassembled after carefully assessing their size, color, and quality.

The completed necklace features the blue stone as the main accent, beautifully adorning the décolletage, with two types of designs woven together alternately, resulting in a gorgeous finish.

It was truly the birth of a one-of-a-kind original piece of jewelry.

When we informed the customer that it was complete, they immediately came to our store.

The customer, wearing a blue jacket, told us that they had chosen their outfit to match the necklace. We are deeply grateful for their joyful reaction to the new jewelry and for expressing their appreciation to us, the creators. That day, the customer's bright smile lit up the entire store.

We are truly delighted to have been able to help jewelry that had been stored away unused for so long bring joy once again.

We look forward to your consultations regarding special jewelry reforms and custom orders in the future.
