Actually, we also created another piece of jewelry from scratch at the request of the same customer. As we briefly mentioned in the previous post, we received a full custom order for a very rare unheated yellow sapphire pendant top. This request came about because, a year and a half ago, we were entrusted with crafting an unheated yellow sapphire ring.
An unheated gemstone is a gemstone that has only been polished from its rough state. Generally, jewelry-grade corundum (the mineral name for ruby and sapphire) is heated and polished to bring out the best qualities of the rough stone, turning it into jewelry.
Therefore, unheated gemstones are rarer because fewer of them are beautiful.
The yellow sapphire we crafted this time, despite being unheated, has no color unevenness and high transparency, shining with a gentle and refreshing hue like lemon syrup poured over shaved ice. It is a beautiful oval-cut yellow sapphire.
First, we created a ring.
By setting the yellow sapphire horizontally, despite being a luxurious gemstone, it gives a casual impression that is easy to wear daily.
The arms, which narrow towards the center, are lined with delicate pave-set diamonds. We crafted it as a full eternity style to match the customer's ring size.
The full custom ring is stacked with a 440 diamond full eternity ring that the customer previously purchased (see the customer's worn photo above).
Next, we created a pendant top to match the ring.
Similar to the ring, the oval-cut yellow sapphire is set horizontally, and the arm, with its graduated pave diamonds, and the bail for the chain are unified in design, allowing them to be worn as a set. We asked about the chain's thickness in advance to ensure it could be interchanged with the customer's existing chains.
We are truly delighted that time has passed since the ring was made, that it has been cherished, and that we were again entrusted with crafting a pendant top to match the ring. Thank you very much for entrusting us with a full custom order using such special gemstones.
