I don't believe that jewelry only needs to be beautiful from the front.
The angle that fits your finger, when you casually look down, when viewed from the side. I want it to be beautiful in all those moments – and I put that feeling into crafting this pearl ring and necklace.
A purple-pink pearl ring and necklace, inherited from my mother-in-law.
The original design was a substantial piece, encased in solid gold. While it certainly had presence, I wanted it to feel a bit lighter and more suitable for everyday wear.
The design theme was curves.
Supple curves that gently hug the roundness of the pearl. By setting diamonds along these curves, light appears to move from any angle. From the front, side, or diagonally—the ring and necklace now change their expression every time you look at them.
I chose pink gold for the metal. Because it's the color that best complements the warmth of the purple-pink pearls.
The weighty pearls became so light.
When I saw the finished product, the pearls themselves looked vibrant. The fact that the ring and necklace complement each other as a set is also a favorite aspect of mine.
Later, I received a message along with a photo of the ring being worn.
"Having it reformed into such a lovely design has given me new joy, as I now wear the ring and necklace whenever I have an opportunity to go out."
Receiving words like these truly makes me glad I do remodeling work. I hope that every time she wears them, she also remembers her mother-in-law.
