Do you think remodeling means completely rebuilding everything?
Actually, there's a way to refurbish while preserving the original design's charm as much as possible, making it suitable for your current self. This garnet piece was exactly that kind of refurbishment.
A gorgeous garnet ring and necklace inherited from her mother-in-law.

A striking design where small garnets surround a large central garnet. When I first saw it, I thought this design was truly complete.
"I wanted to soften the impression of it being a bit too large," the customer said.
If that's the case, I decided to adjust the impression by changing how it's worn, without altering the design.
With that in mind, I decided to set both stones horizontally.

For the ring, we remade the shank, and for the necklace, we attached a light chain directly. With just these changes, a casual air was born, while maintaining its gorgeousness.

I believe that jewelry reform is a job of carefully considering the condition of the jewelry, the customer's wishes, and the balance of the design, and then finding the best form for that particular stone.
Sometimes completely remaking is the right answer, but other times, like this case, if we feel "it's beautiful as is," we choose to preserve it as much as possible. Both decisions stem from respect for the jewelry and the customer.
21 pieces of jewelry inherited from her mother-in-law transformed into 10 new pieces of jewelry.
Throughout this series, I had the opportunity to witness many moments where the sentiments embedded in jewelry connected across generations.
After delivery, we received this warm message from the customer:
"Thank you for refurbishing them into such wonderful designs. Now I have a new joy of wearing the ring and necklace whenever I go out. It also gives me an opportunity to remember my mother-in-law. I plan to wear them according to my outfits and the seasons. My daughters also love their bracelets."
Reading this message filled my heart.
I am truly grateful for entrusting us with so many precious pieces of jewelry and for leaving the design to us. And for the opportunity to help breathe new life into the jewelry, intertwined with the memories of her mother-in-law, to spin new stories.
I am sincerely grateful for everything.
Thank you for reading to the end.
